Compare home fibre broadband!

Well i guess to most of us first time users considering to go fibre or not, the so-called installation costs being "waived" differs from the various ISPs,
here is a breakdown of the so-called one-time costs you need to incur before deciding on which vendor is more suitable
For those households who is openNet ready but for watever reasons did not install their OpenNet termination point, there is an additional cost of getting OpenNet to install this termination point before they can be activated by whichever ISP you are signing up for.
https://www.singtelshop.com/homebroadband/expresscatalogue.jsf
At a glance here are the breakdown of the various ISP offers

Singtel (Big Red)
(24 mth contract) (Fibre + Home Line bundle)
150Mbps plan - $49.90
200Mbps plan - $59.90
300Mbps plan - $79.90
Copied from Singtel's website under FAQ :
If you missed your free prior appointment with OpenNet, an installation charge of $235.40 (with 7% GST) for High Rise or $481.50 (with 7% GST) for landed property is applicable. The above amount is charged on behalf of OpenNet.
If you have already made an appointment with OpenNet to lay the fibre and install the 1st TP (Fibre Termination Point) to your home, a SingTel installation appointment would only be required to set up your SingTel Fibre BroadBand services.
An installation charge of $80.25 (weekdays) or $112.35*(weekends) by SingTel is applicable for installation of equipment, activation and demo of service. This installation charge will also be levied if the customer is not available for installation appointment or does not meet the minimum system requirements.
Wiring charge of $80.25 will apply for wiring service from the modem to each computer/device within the first 35m, additional $10 is applicable for every subsequent 5m wiring length. The wiring service is free for 1st mioTV set-top box on SingTel Fibre BroadBand Bundle, however it is chargeable for each subsequent new mioTV set-top box sign-ups.
A registration charge of $53.50* is applicable for all SingTel Fibre BroadBand + Home Line plans.
* inclusive of 7% GST.
Total installation and activation charges from SingTel = $53.50 (reg charge) + $80.25(weekdays) or $112.35 (weekends) = 130.75 or 165.85

StarHub (Big Green) (24mth contract)
100Mbps plan -$49.90
150Mbps plan -$49.90
200Mbps plan -$102.30
300Mbps plan (new) -$79.90
1000Mbps plan -395.90
no idea why their 200mbps plan cost more than their 300mbps plan i guess cos its an older package?
Copied from Starhub FAQ
How much are the 3rd Party Charges and what are they for?As the termination point is provided by OpenNet, any charges incurred will be passed through to StarHub, as a RSP, to charge our customer. In cases where you have missed the initial rollout by OpenNet, the charges below will apply.
HDB - $220
Landed - $450
Cabling - $33 per 5M (For situation above first 15M)
For every connection - $5
If patching required at MDF room - $160
obtained from other sources: starhub service installation fee = $53.50
service activation fee = $32.10
ONT collection fee = $53.5
total 1 time cost (not incl openNet installation) = $139.10

M1 (24mth contract)
100Mbps plan -$39
200Mbps plan -$55
attractive bundle: free ONT installation waiver ? (not really according to the fine print, the service installation and activation fee is $58.85 for weekdays 9am-5pm, 85.60 for weekdays after 5pm and 112.35 for weekends)
i assume the charges for installing Opennet applies as well for M1.
obtained from other sources: additional ONT collection fee of $12.84 (weekdays from 9am-5pm), $19.26 (weekdays after 5pm) and $25.68 (weekends) and a fibre termination charge of $32.10
total costs for installing M1 = cheapest? (58.85+12.84 =$71.69 for weekdays (9am-5pm)
Finally we come to my favorite Myrepublic: based on MR current promotions
100Mbps plan (Pure)
1. no contract -$59 /mth but there is a $128.4 installation and activation charge for no contract plans.
2. 12 mths - $59/mth ($128.40 installation is waived)
3. 24 mths - $59/mth ($128.40 installation is waived and you only pay $8 for 5mths on the 10th,11th,12th,23rd and 24th mth = $51x5 =$255 dollar savings.)
150Mbps plan (Gamer)
1. 12 mth - $69/mth ($128.40 installation is waived)
2. 24 mth -$69/mth ($128.40 installation is waived and you only pay $8 for 5mths on the 10th,11th,12th,23rd and 24th mth = $51x5 =$255 dollar savings.)
Only a purely price basis it appears comparing M1 vs MR is the way to go, on a apple vs apple basis (assuming the house hold has already installed OpenNet termination point) here goes my calculation
M1 24 mth 100mbps plan = $39x24 + 71.69 (cheapest installation on weekdays) = 936+71.69 = $1007.69 over 24 mths
MR 24 mth 100mbps plan = $59x19 mths + $8x5 mths = $1161 over 24mths
however i do understand the $8dollar promotion for 5 mths will end today 28Feb so we should wait for MR new offers to do a price check after 28 Feb XD
Hope this helps though i know there are other factors such as Mio Tv bundles, starhub SCV hubber discounts but i try to keep it simple on a fibre plan comparison.
Feel free to pm me if you wanna know more about Myrepublic offers (I am blatantly biased towards MR given i am a MR subscriber and loving it XD),
